ACA Representative Met With Elected Officials

During the past quarter, the Armenian Council of America Washington D.C. Representative Taniel Koushakjian met with elected officials to thank them for the passage of the Armenian Genocide Resolution in both chambers of Congress, and urge House Members to support H.Res. 452, the U.S. – Armenia Strategic Partnership Resolution.

Mr. Koushakjian met with the Armenian Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Chairman of the House Ethics Committee Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL), Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA),  Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL).

During these meetings, Mr. Koushakjian stated that “Armenian Americans from across the country are proud to have such strong leadership in Washington. From finally securing full acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide, to strengthening the U.S.-Armenian strategic partnership.”

Sen. Rick Scott stated that “[I] was proud to join my colleagues in support of a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide and paying tribute to the memory of 1.5 million victims. This action was historic and long overdue.”

 

Armenian Council of America is committed to promote the civic and civil rights interests of the Armenian American community. ACA also aims to strengthen U.S. – Armenia and U.S. – Artsakh ties, the development of programs promoting sustainable economic growth and good governance in Armenia, while promoting the values and responsibilities of global citizenship.
