Lemkin Institute Demands Release of Armenian Detainees in Baku

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention has urged Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to release all Armenian prisoners currently detained in Baku.

In a statement released on Monday, the Institute expressed its deep concern over the ongoing illegal detention of political prisoners from Artsakh in Azerbaijan.

“We strongly call for the immediate release of all Armenians held in Baku,” the statement read, emphasizing that their detention constitutes a severe violation of international law.

The Lemkin Institute also encouraged the public to sign a petition aimed at restoring the rights of Artsakh Armenians, as well as Armenian POWs and civilian hostages held in Azerbaijan, some of whom have been detained illegally for several years.
