Urge Your Members of Congress to Sign Bicameral Letter to Secretary Rubio Challenging Section 907 Waiver and U.S. Military Aid to Azerbaijan

A bipartisan, bicameral congressional letter led by Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) and Armenian Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Frank Pallone (D-NJ) is seeking additional signatures from members of Congress. Addressed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the letter raises concerns over Azerbaijan’s continued detention of Armenian hostages, military presence within Armenia’s internationally recognized borders, destruction of Armenian cultural and Christian heritage in Artsakh, and the continued waiver of Section 907 of the FREEDOM Support Act. The lawmakers call on the administration to pursue the release of Armenian hostages, the withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from Armenian territory, and the withholding of U.S. military assistance to Azerbaijan if meaningful progress is not achieved.
