U.S. Secretary Marco Rubio Congratulates Armenia on 34th Independence Day
On September 21, 2025, Armenia celebrated its 34th Independence Day, marking the nation’s sovereignty since 1991. U.S. Secretary Marco Rubio congratulated the Armenian people, stating: “On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Armenia on your 34th Independence Day. The United States stands with Armenia, our valued partner, as we advance our shared goals for peace, prosperity, and stability in the South Caucasus.”
Rubio highlighted the strength of U.S.-Armenia relations, referencing President Trump’s summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the $145 million in U.S. assistance through the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), and bilateral agreements signed by Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan. He underscored America’s ongoing support, adding: “As Armenia continues to forge its future as a crossroads of peace and growth, the United States reaffirms its commitment to a more connected, stable, and prosperous region.”
